Washington voters are sending Vice President Harris a clear message: We want a PERMANENT CEASEFIRE NOW!

In the Washington Democratic Presidential primary, we filled out the UNCOMMITTED DELEGATES bubble, because we strongly reject the Biden Administration’s funding of war and genocide in Gaza. Now, Vice President Harris must earn our vote through a dramatic change in policy.

Washington State has been a leader in the ceasefire movement since day one. Our cities have been among the first in the nation to pass ceasefire resolutions, with dozens of statewide elected officials, faith leaders, community activists and thousands of everyday Washingtonians signing on to the Washington Solidarity Statement that also called for an end to the violence in Gaza. 

A successful candidate represents a broad coalition and popular positions, but right now, the Democratic frontrunner is  not representing the 80% of Democrats who want a permanent ceasefire and an end to American funding of Israel’s war in Gaza. Harris is not representing many of us, including young people and voters of color who turn out in record numbers to protest the Biden Administration’s policies in the streets.

Harris MUST do better. We are here to pressure the Democratic Party into representing the will of the voter, no matter who sits in the Oval Office.

    In 2008, Obama did not make the ballot in the Michigan primaries but his campaign mobilized young, Black, and brown voters to vote “uncommitted” as an impactful way to have their voices heard. This sent a message about Obama’s popularity from Democratic voters to their Party’s establishment.

  • Why Uncommitted Delegates?

    It's more strategic to push the person likely to make it through to the general before the general, and we want Biden to match the will of the people who overwhelmingly want a permanent ceasefire and end to funding and weaponizing Israel. As far as the delegates strategy, we can effectively push for our demands and goals from inside the tent while folks are already pushing outside. Should Biden wish to secure another term, he will have to face the fact that his actions must match what the majority of Democrats want.
